Ideally, you won't be in a situation that requires you to keep a low profile, either. I wouldn't have stood for it myself if it wouldn't draw attention to me.

In Makai it's not a problem, because everybody knows who I am now. Earth's harder because they don't understand things like 'not being completely human' and I don't know how I'd explain all of that to everybody...

*"Makai". Oh, that might explain things. Well, she seems nice enough. It doesn't give him any hope for her world, though...it might even be the exact same as Zett's...though he never did go into much detail about his home.*

Exactly...they'd sooner call you insane or...in your case I suppose overly imaginative.

It's not worth the trouble. But that means it's impossible to live in the same place on Earth when you haven't aged for years, too. I miss my friends I had to leave.

...I know the feeling too well. It's why I would prefer to return to Heaven when all I must do is done. Angels- ...my world's angels aren't bad company when you get used to them.

*Of course he'll wind up meeting a nice immortal lady and they'll settle for isolation together on Earth for a few good decades instead but he doesn't know that.*

I bet. They're no good in my world, but I'm sure not every world is like that.

He's one of my friends. He helped me a lot when I was looking for my papa, which was a long time ago.

He's a little strange, but if he likes you, you must be somebody really special.

By my own world's standards, certainly. To him, I never would have believed it before it happened. It's still...surreal, that our worlds should be so different.

I don't think it's that strange. If there are infinite parallel universes like people say, then there have to be ones that are different.

It's...difficult to imagine something like that. Your father...is a demon, isn't he? Could you imagine him torturing someone and thriving on their suffering? I'd suppose that is how difficult it is for me to imagine a world where God is a tyrant who seeks to abolish human free will...

...well, when you say it like that, it makes sense...

Exactly... There are some things that, no matter how much we know it is possible, even if we are faced with proof that it is before our very eyes, our hearts tell us it can't be.

If things are like that... I'm surprised you keep dealing with people from our universe, who remind you of it.

I cannot hide from the fact that it exists. I cannot refuse to help people in need because their situation is opposite mine.

*And, though he won't say it because he isn't sure how, he feels a sort of obligation to exist in these peoples' lives, as if to make up for the failings of their Heaven.*

You're a very kind person. I'm glad your Heaven rewards you for that.

Often, goodness creates its own reward.

No, he shouldn't think of these things. He's blinded by the pain of his experiences here.*

So I would hope that you could be rewarded for good deeds, yourself.

I'm back with Papa again, and my brother, and the world's a lot better than it was when I was growing up. So that much is good.

Indeed. I'm glad you could be reunited with your family after doing what you needed to do.

*Because it was his experience that most people he met outside his own world had missions of great importance of their own most of the time.

If only he could still hope for the same.*

...Yes and no. My family is long gone.

*And any new families he may have started. But then...there is something he thinks he's missing here...*

If you're Zett's uncle, then maybe if we get to know each other, you'll be in my family too.

[Not as dear to her as Papa of course but still family.]

Not in any traditional sense, I'm not. But I don't mind being part of an honorary family.
